AMBITIOUS UNI STUDENTS
THIS OPPORTUNITY IS FOR YOU...
I didn't take the most conventional route into financial advisory. From EM3 in primary school, to Normal Technical, ITE, SP, and eventually NUS Business School, my journey was never about having the easiest path. It was about proving that with the right environment, discipline, and belief, your starting point doesn't have to define your ceiling.
I first stepped into financial advisory while I was still in university, driven by the need to earn an income, support myself, and reduce the financial burden on my family, all while balancing school and my own growth. What started as a flexible way to earn eventually became something much bigger.
Today I'm a Million Dollar Round Table achiever, a recognised benchmark for excellence in the global financial advisory industry. I also published my own investment book, The Independent Investor, while still studying, a reflection of my belief that financial knowledge should be made more accessible, practical, and empowering.
But what drives me isn't just the awards, titles, or business milestones. It's the belief that financial advisory can be done with integrity, heart, and real substance. Having seen the stigma surrounding this industry, I'm committed to raising the standard, serving clients as both an advisor and a friend, and mentoring like-minded people who want to build a meaningful career without compromising their values.
As a career mentor, I work with people who are ambitious, coachable, and hungry for growth, especially those who know they're capable of more but haven't yet found the right platform, guidance, or belief system to bring it out. My mission is simple: to build advisors who clients can trust, families can rely on, and the industry can be proud of.
Student Stories
"I booked the call because I didn't really know what financial advisory actually looked like beyond things I heard. Ian explained the work very plainly & honestly which really helped me decide whether it was worth exploring during uni!! Highly recommend."
"My major is in engineering so at first I thought this wasn't really for me haha. But Ian broke down the skillset properly — meeting people, learning the systems, and how to do this sustainably while finishing my degree at the same time! The call gave me a much more realistic view than what I had in my head. Thank you Ian :)"
"I was comparing a few options for work while studying and didn't want to hear some kind of pitch... but Ian was very direct & honest about advisory as a student, both the freedom side and the pressure. Which really gave me clarity to make a proper decision, not just chase income blindly. Rly grateful!"
Common Questions
No. Students from many backgrounds explore financial advisory, including business, engineering, social sciences, communications, and more. What matters more is whether you can learn quickly, communicate well, and handle something with more independence than a typical part time job or internship.
It's a 15-minute conversation, no sales pitching. I will ask about your current situation, what you're considering during/after university, and answer your questions about what financial advisory actually involves.
This is for students in all years of Uni. Students in earlier years can use the calls to understand whether this is a path worth pursuing alongside finishing their degree, just as I did! Final year students can also attend to consider this as a career path after grad.
I will typically follow up within the same business day via WhatsApp to help set up your call!
